Rhinoplasty is performed to reshape, reduce or augment a person's nose, remove a hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, or to correct injury, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing. We pay close attention to ethnic aesthetic concerns to avoid a "one size fits all" approach to nose reshaping. Incisions are made on the inside or the outside of the nose depending on the extent of reshaping necessary.
As we age, gravity, wind/sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces. We develop fine wrinkles, our cheeks droop causing creases to appear around our mouths, and our necks start to sag. We appear tired. A facelift can improve upon these problems by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles, giving the face a fresher, more youthful and rested look. Incisions are made in places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears to minimize the appearance of scars. After surgery, some patients may appear 5-10 years younger.
Browlifts can rejuvenate drooping or creased foreheads, helping you to look less angry, sad or tired. Using either traditional or minimally invasive (endoscopic) methods, the muscles above the eyes are altered to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.
A sagging neck detracts from an angular, shapely face. A smooth neck creates visually stunning transitions from the face to the bodice. From incisions behind the ears and in a crease under the chin, excess fat can be removed and loose muscles tightened to lift the neck. Liposuction is often used to enhance the end result.
Blepharoplasty can improve the appearance of puffy, drooping, tired-appearing eyes. Removal of excess skin, fat, and muscle can restore a youthful look and position to your eyes. Incisions can be made on the outside of the lid and the inside of the lid, depending on the extent of skin removal necessary. Additional procedure to areas around the eyes can be performed through these incisions to improve the look of the whole region.
Lip augmentation can be performed to improve the appearance and position of thin lips. Fat from the patient, dermis, and injectable fillers like collagen or hyaluronic acid can be used depending on the patient's needs. Each method has its own pros and cons. None of the mentioned methods is truly permanent. We do not use permanent synthetic fillers or implants like silicone oil or Gore-tex strips to perform our augmentations because of the complications associated with them.
The position of the nose, cheeks, and chin determine facial harmony. A deficit in these areas can create an imbalance in the appearance of the face. Additionally, with aging we lose volume and projection in these key areas creating a flattening type effect to the face. Implants can be used to restore balance to the face and build up areas of deficiency. Implants can often be placed through incisions in the mouth leaving the patient with no external scars.
Excessively protruding ears or misshapened ears can make both children and adults quite self-conscious. Reshaping of the cartilage and repositioning of the body of the ear can improve this problem dramatically. Incisions are generally made in the back of the ear to hide the scar.
We also provide services for repair of torn earlobes and revision of ear lobe abnormalities caused during facelift surgery. Complementary ear piercing is included.
Any area on the face or body can be injected with fat harvested from the patient themselves. This procedure is often used to build up depressed areas in the skin of the face or body to improve upon contour and symmetry. Approximately fifty percent of the fat injected remains at one year after the injection, so additional procedures may be necessary. However, retention of injected fat will vary from patient to patient.
